“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the world, baptizing them and teaching them all (EVERYONE) what I have taught, and I will be with you for all ages.”

St. Katharine Drexel Life Long Faith Formation.

When a child is baptized the parents and godparents pledge to share their faith with the child.  The Church believes that parents are the primary educators of their children in the ways of faith.  This is why our parish has begun a family faith-sharing program called "Generations of Faith."  This program is an alternative to traditional religious education for young people in grades 1 - 11, including those who attend a Catholic school.  Parents and their children meet once a month, for three hours on a Sunday from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  During each session the families attend Mass together, share a light meal with each other, and receive additional materials that the families use to teach about religion at home during the other three weeks of the month.  This program is open to all families in the parish.

Philosophy

Religious education is the process of forming Catholics in the message of the Gospel and the beliefs of the Catholic Church. The goal is to bring people of all ages into mature communion and intimacy with Jesus Christ. When faith is alive, it is believed, lived, celebrated, and prayed.

Religious education promotes knowledge of  the Catholic faith, Scripture, moral formation, prayer, community, and understanding of liturgy.  It shapes minds, hearts and souls. It transforms individuals into disciples who are called to live as authentic witnesses to the Gospel values in the world today.

These Christian values flow from the gift of faith received at baptism and are nurtured through all stages of life. The development of Christian norms and values never ends.  It is a continuing process of faith development throughout a person’s life, which deepens as maturity increases.
Parents are the first and best teachers of their children. As we partner together, we will strive to give our children a firm foundation in faith, a vibrant experience of God, and a sense of security as part of a loving parish community.  For additional information about religious education programs please contact the Director of Faith Formation,

The purpose of the parish Religious Education Program is to assist parents with the sacred responsibility of educating their children in the Catholic faith. The parish offers formal classroom instruction through the Catechetical Ministry. A catechist is a person who believes in Jesus Christ, lives that belief within a community of Catholics, and is called to share that belief with others. Catechists, assistants and office volunteers are needed for all grade levels

Youth Mass

Beginning in September, we would like to begin a youth Mass once a month at the 10:30 am Mass. We are hoping our teenagers will serve in various ministries at that liturgy including, greeters, ushers, lectors, etc. To begin with, we would like to find out which of our youth play instruments such as woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion or guitar. If you know of someone or you play an instrument and would like to be involved in music ministry once a month, please call the rectory office during the week at 895-6813.
